IF you ever thought to ponder some of the serious questions I asked myself while writing MH, here’s a list of the ones I found most interesting…and possibly irritating:
- Can there be such a thing as a Homo post religio (literally: “man” after religion”?
- What does the Free Martian Fellowship’s slogan mean? (“Our religion is freedom. Our worship is action.”)
- Artificial Humans like QuinnAH, HanAH, MisAH and the rest neither grow nor age. They wear out. What if one of them had been part of a group who lynched a dozen Human farmers — would Stepan have still befriended them?
- Would it be possible for Martian society to come to see that Artificial Humans and AI are worthwhile as a different expression of what it is to be Human?
- Is any belief in anything immaterial a major cause of Human suffering in the 21st Century?
- How would YOU react to Artificial Humans? How do you react to Artificial Intelligence? Will or DO they deserve to be considered Human?
